Whitefoot, 1959 FA Cup Champion from Forest, passes away at 90

Former Nottingham Forest player Jeff Whitefoot has passed away at the age of 90, the club has confirmed. Whitefoot played over 250 games for the Reds from 1958 to 1967 and was the last surviving member of the team that won the FA Cup in 1959, a moment that secured his place in Forest history.

Whitefoot began his career at Manchester United, where he became the youngest player to start in a league match for the club at just 16 years and 105 days old. He spent eight years with the ‘Busby Babes’ at Old Trafford before moving to Grimsby Town. Less than a year later, he joined Nottingham Forest where he played 285 games under the management of Billy Walker, Andy Beattie, and Johnny Carey.

His greatest achievement with Forest came in his first season with the team when they won the FA Cup for the second time by defeating Luton Town at Wembley. The club expressed deep sadness at Whitefoot’s passing and offered their condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
