The Wichita Falls County Health Department has been on the lookout for a new Chief of Health for the past six months. The search is finally over, and the city has appointed Amy Fagan as the new health director of the Wichita County Health Department. Fagan served as the assistant health director for 16 years and is eager to continue making a positive impact on the community.

Fagan started working with the Public Health Department of the City of Wichita Falls and participated in the Emergency Preparedness Program. She was eventually promoted to Assistant Director of Health and helped her department navigate through tough times. Over the years, Fagan has gained valuable experience dealing with floods, droughts, and infectious diseases like salmonella and coronavirus.

In her new role, Fagan is focused on contributing to the health sector’s success by introducing initiatives like chronic pain management classes and stress management programs. She hopes to make a positive impact on the community’s physical and mental health.

Wichita Falls city spokesman Chris Haugen is confident that Fagan’s experience and dedication will make the Wichita County Health Department run smoothly. Fagan is grateful for the community’s support over the past six months and is optimistic about the future.
