The combination of Large Language Models (LLMs) and ERP technology is being touted as the future of the ERP landscape, although it is still in the early stages of development. LLMs have the ability to process large amounts of data in context, leading to the foundation for automation solutions. Recognizing this potential value, EY launched its AI platform, EY.ai, in September 2023. Catriona Campbell, CTIO of EY UK and Ireland, highlighted the internal changes needed to successfully develop EY.ai, including rolling out a LLM to its workforce of 400,000 employees.

EY invested $1.4bn in EY.ai over 18 months with the aim of creating a platform that combines EY’s business experience with AI technology to assist firms in adopting AI solutions. By forming business alliances within EY.ai, EY can leverage the collective business and technological knowledge of its partners to offer a more effective approach to implementing AI transformations. This ecosystem includes alliances with Dell Technologies, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, ServiceNow, Thomson Reuters, UiPath, and others.

EY.ai connects the business experience of EY teams in various areas with their technology platforms and AI capabilities to help clients confidently adopt AI while tackling its challenges. This platform is used by EY teams to deliver AI-powered services and solutions to clients, driving productivity gains and innovation. The success of EY.ai demonstrates the potential of integrating LLMs with ERP technology and how it can propel businesses towards embracing innovation.
