Willie Nelson fans have had an anxiety-inducing week, with a string of show cancellations causing concern for the health of the 91-year-old legendary crooner. Last week, an unspecified illness forced Nelson to miss appearances on the first leg of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour.
Fans were disappointed to hear that Nelson was not feeling well and had been advised by doctors to rest for four days, with hopes that he would make a quick recovery and rejoin the tour. However, it took longer than expected for him to get clearance from his doctors, causing him to miss a total of five shows in various locations.
Finally, the good news arrived over the weekend when Nelson was cleared by his doctors to get back on the road. A statement shared on June 28 announced his return to the Outlaw Tour, with his next tour stop scheduled in Mansfield, Massachusetts on July 2, followed by the 4th of July Picnic in Camden, New Jersey on July 4.
Despite his age, Nelson has no plans to retire from touring anytime soon. In an interview with AARP last year, he mentioned that he has everything he needs on the tour bus, never needing to go into a hotel room, and finds working to be really good for him.
Fans are eager to see Willie Nelson back on stage and wish him a speedy recovery as he resumes his tour.
