Wilson and Clark top the fan vote for the WNBA All-Star game

In early fan voting for the WNBA All-Star Game, A’ja Wilson leads Caitlin Clark by just over a thousand votes, as announced by the league on Friday. Wilson’s Indiana teammate Aliyah Boston is currently in third place, trailing the leaders by about 40,000 votes. Wilson, who is having an exceptional season averaging 27.9 points and 11.3 rebounds, has received 217,773 votes. Clark is not far behind with 216,427 votes. Last season, Wilson received the most fan votes, but the total was only 95,860.

Breanna Stewart of New York is in fourth place, followed by Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas in fifth place. Angel Reese of Chicago is in seventh place in the voting and is the only other rookie in the top 10. Other first-year players, Cameron Brink and Kate Martin, just missed out on the top 10, coming in 11th and 12th respectively.

Sabrina Ionescu of New York is in sixth place, with Kelsey Plum of Las Vegas in eighth, Napheesa Collier of Minnesota in ninth, and Dearica Hamby of Los Angeles in 10th place, rounding out the top 10. The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix and will feature WNBA All-Stars facing off against the U.S. Olympic team. All-Star selections are made using a combination of fan votes (50%), current WNBA players (25%), and media (25%).
