Deion Sanders, the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, recently received a commitment from wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. from the class of 2025. Although Watkins decommitted in November, Colorado is still in the running as Watkins included them in his top 16 selection on Thursday.

Hailing from Venice, Florida, Watkins is a four-star recruit listed at 5-foot-10 and 172 pounds. Known for his explosiveness, Watkins primarily plays in the slot and excels as a route runner. His agility makes it difficult for defenders to tackle him, and his speed allows him to break away from them in open field situations.

Some of the other notable teams in Watkins’ top 16 include Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Penn State. Even though it may be challenging, the fact that Colorado is still a contender for Watkins is a positive sign.
