On Sunday, Wisconsin football extended an offer to class of 2027 linebacker Braylon Williams. Despite not being ranked by 247Sports, Rivals, or On3, Williams has already received offers from multiple NCAA Division I programs, including Wisconsin, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Arkansas, SMU, Colorado, and Utah.

Defensive coordinator Mike Tressel has been leading the charge in Williams’ recruitment, according to Rivals. Hailing from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, Williams had an impressive freshman season with 50 solo tackles, 89 total tackles, and 8.9 tackles per game, as reported by MaxPreps. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 205 pounds, Williams’ standout performance has caught the attention of scouts nationwide.

Although the 2027 recruiting cycle is still far off, Luke Fickell and his staff are already showing interest in Williams, recognizing him as one of Texas’ most promising defensive talents. On the other hand, Fickell’s class of 2025 ranks No. 15 in the nation with 13 committed players. The roster includes talented linebackers like three-star Cooper Catalano, three-star Brenden Anes, and three-star Samuel Lateju, who are expected to make an impact for Wisconsin starting in 2025. It seems Wisconsin is gearing up for a strong future with promising recruits like Williams and the class of 2025.
