After 40 years in the broadcasting industry, Mark Viviano, the Sports Director at WJZ-TV, has announced his retirement. In a heartfelt video message shared on social media, Viviano expressed his gratitude for his career and lifelong journey. He dedicated 30 years of his career to Baltimore, spending the last 22 years at WJZ-TV. Viviano mentioned that he will be focusing on spending time with his family and contributing to community programs through the Catholic Church of Baltimore in his retirement.
Throughout his career, Viviano covered stories on local sports teams like the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, as well as collegiate and high school sports. He expressed his appreciation for all the athletes, coaches, and individuals who trusted him to share their stories over the years. Viviano plans to continue living in Baltimore with his wife and raising his family in the city. His official retirement date is set for July 18th.
