Marlenin Vito, a Connecticut woman, is facing charges for allegedly stealing over $97,000 from a Putnam County business where she was employed. The investigation began last April when the business owner in Brewster suspected their bookkeeper of embezzling money and reported it to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Vito was arrested and charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records as a result of the investigation.

Gina Bradshaw, a former medical office manager from Orange County, has pleaded guilty to defrauding the state health insurance plan. Bradshaw, who was enrolled in NYSHIP through her husband’s state job, admitted to submitting false claims for reimbursement for services she claimed to have received at two offices where she worked. She collected over $12,000 in reimbursement checks through this scheme.

In Stony Point, police are still searching for a suspect involved in an attempted robbery and home invasion. A man reported being accosted by two armed and masked individuals in his garage on Monday night. A struggle ensued, during which a shot was fired but no one was injured. Julian Sanchez from the Bronx was arrested in connection to the incident, facing charges of burglary and robbery. The search for the other suspect is ongoing.
