World Cafe, the daily music and interview program produced by WXPN/Philadelphia and distributed by NPR, recently received two prestigious 2024 New York Festivals® Radio Awards. The organization announced this exciting news yesterday.

One of the awards is a Gold award for the interview titled Weird Al on World Cafe with Raina Douris, which aired in February 2023. The interview featured a conversation with multi-platinum artist “Weird Al” Yankovic and was conducted by World Cafe Host Raina Douris, with production by Kimberly Junod.

Additionally, World Cafe was also honored with a Bronze award for the episode, Velour and Corey Fox: The All-Ages Venue and the Man at the Heart of Provo’s Music Scene, which was part of the show’s “Sense of Place” series highlighting Provo, Utah.
