Unbeaten lightweight world champion Rhiannon Dixon will be defending her WBO belt against Briton Terri Harper at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on Saturday, 24 August. Dixon, from Warrington, has a perfect 10-0 record and will be making her first title defense after winning the belt in April. Harper, from Doncaster, is the WBA light-middleweight champion and will be looking to become a three-weight champion by defeating Dixon.
Harper, who has a record of 14 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, including a defeat against WBO welterweight champion Sandy Ryan, expressed her respect for Dixon. She mentioned that Dixon is a respectful opponent without any egotistical behavior. Harper will be dropping down to lightweight for the fight against Dixon in hopes of getting a solid win and reclaiming her position at the top of the sport.
Aside from the Dixon-Harper bout, the card will also feature Chorley light-welterweight Jack Catterall’s match against American Regis Prograis. This event will mark the first boxing event at Manchester’s newly built 23,500-capacity Co-op Live arena, making it a significant milestone in the sport’s history in the city. Fans can expect an exciting night of boxing action with some of the best fighters in the world competing for glory.
