Writer and director chosen for HBO’s Harry Potter series

HBO, in partnership with Warner Bros. Television, has announced Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod as key players in the upcoming original Harry Potter series. Gardiner, known for her work on shows like “Succession” and “His Dark Materials,” will serve as the showrunner and executive producer. Mylod, who has worked on projects such as “Game of Thrones” and “The Last of Us,” will act as executive producer and director for several episodes of the series. The new series is currently in development and will be available on HBO Max’s expanding global platform.

The show will be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved “Harry Potter” book series, featuring a new cast that will lead a new generation of fans through the magical world of Hogwarts. With intricate detail and beloved characters, the series aims to capture the hearts of fans who have been following Harry’s adventures for over twenty-five years.
