WSFA 12 News is thrilled to introduce its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. Baker joins WSFA after serving as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years. During his time at KTEN-TV, he was the weeknight sports anchor, delivering local and regional sports news from north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Baker also produced and hosted regular feature shows and football previews.
A Georgia native, Davis graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism before working at KTEN. He has a background in sports broadcasting, including internships at WRBL in Columbus, Ga., and writing for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Ga., covering UGA sports. Baker expressed his enthusiasm for SEC sports and his eagerness to highlight athletes in Alabama.
Excited to work alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director, Baker stated, “I’m honored and excited to join the WSFA team and look forward to showcasing athletes from high school, college, and the pros in and around Montgomery.” Langello also shared her excitement about the new partnership, expressing her confidence in Baker and his background in sports reporting.
Langello emphasized Baker’s passion for sports and willingness to get involved in the community, stating, “Please welcome him with open arms.” The WSFA team is eager to see the impact that Davis Baker will have on sports reporting in Montgomery and beyond.
