WWE Partners with Indiana Sports Corp. to Bring Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania to Indianapolis

A WrestleMania sign hangs over the crowd during a WWE event in Boston on Monday, March 6, 2023. In an announcement on Monday, June 24, 2024, WWE and Indiana Sports Corp. revealed their partnership to bring three of the sports entertainment company’s largest stadium events – Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania – to Indianapolis.

The partnership marks the first of its kind and will see the Royal Rumble take place on Feb. 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium. Additionally, two-night SummerSlam and two-night WrestleMania events will also be held at the stadium in the coming years.

WWE, under TKO Group Holdings, estimates that WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble contribute over $300 million in economic impact. The agreement will also include WWE television shows like Raw, Smackdown, and NXT, along with live events in various arenas across Indiana during the partnership.

Patrick Talty, the president of Indiana Sports Corp., expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it aligns with the city’s sports strategy that has attracted millions of visitors and garnered global media coverage over the years. Indiana Sports Corp. has a rich history of hosting major sporting events, including Super Bowl XLVI, the College Football Playoff National Championship, NCAA Final Fours, and Big Ten football championship games, resulting in over $4 billion in direct spending in the community.

Overall, this partnership between WWE and Indiana Sports Corp. is expected to bring even more excitement and economic benefit to Indianapolis and surrounding areas as they prepare to host some of the biggest events in sports entertainment.
