The Browns made a roster move on Friday by signing offensive guard Wyatt Davis. In order to add Davis to the roster, the team waived defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. Davis, who played college football at Ohio State, was originally drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Since entering the league, he has appeared in a total of nine games with the Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Cardinals. Last season, Davis was on injured reserve with the Giants. Notably, Davis has football in his blood as his grandfather is Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis.
On the other hand, Peevy had signed a futures contract with the Browns after last season. Peevy initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2022. He has played in two games for the Titans and has spent time on both the Titans’ and Panthers’ practice squads. Ultimately, Peevy’s roster spot was sacrificed to make room for Davis on the Browns’ roster.
