Yahoo Sports’ June Rankings for Catchers

In the June edition of my rest-of-season position rankings and overall top 300 for 5×5 leagues, I had to find a new No. 1 overall player. It seems that there are only about 120 players in the majors capable of hitting right now, especially with many of the best pitchers injured. The rankings include positions such as SP, RP, OF, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, and Catcher ROS Rankings.

The Orioles prefer to get James McCann his catcher starts versus lefties, resulting in some overlap in the rankings. Ryan Jeffers has been performing well and could be considered the AL’s best catcher so far this season. Meanwhile, players like David Fry are overachieving, but the progress they have made is evident. Fry’s improved strikeout-to-walk ratios suggest he could be a legitimate regular for the Guardians.

Iván Herrera ranks 10th for the short term, but his value is expected to decrease once Willson Contreras returns from a broken forearm, possibly at the beginning of the second half. For the latest player news, waiver claims, roster advice, and more, listeners can tune in to the Rotoworld Baseball Show, available on various podcast platforms.
