Young activists in France protest in solidarity with Palestinians: “Feeling powerless in the face of Gaza pains us”

In Paris, there are a few students who are aware of the situation, some of whom are new to protesting. All of them are hopeful that their voices will eventually be heard, like the students in New York or California. These students have recently been occupying French universities and have been evicted multiple times. Some have even gone on hunger strike in hopes of drawing attention to their cause. They are now considering how to keep their movement alive and prevent it from dying out before it gains momentum.

Paris is not like Columbia, and France is not like the United States. The students feel powerless as they watch images of Gaza and want to make a difference. They believe that their generation does not want to have blood on their hands and they want to show the world that they care. While they are inspired by the mobilization in the United States, they also wish there were more people joining them in France.

Despite facing challenges and obstacles, the students in France have managed to organize demonstrations and blockades at universities in Paris and other cities. They have a common goal of protesting against Israeli universities and raising awareness about the situation in Gaza. The students face criticism and opposition, but they remain determined to continue voicing their opinions and fighting for what they believe in.

Nearby, the Union of Jewish Students of France has set up a dialogue table to promote understanding and break the cycle of conflict. They engage in conversations with pro-Palestinian students in an effort to find common ground. Both sides express a willingness to find peace and recognize the suffering of all parties involved. Despite their differences, they strive to have respectful conversations and dialogue, with the hope of fostering understanding and empathy.

The students in France, whether pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli, are working towards a common goal of peace and understanding. They condemn violence and terrorism on both sides and seek to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Despite facing challenges and opposition, they remain determined to make their voices heard and bring attention to the issues they care about.
