Young Leader Berber Swart of the IOC addresses mental health through sports initiative

The Let’s Move campaign is set to conclude on Olympic Day (23 June) and will serve as a prelude to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 while encouraging more people to stay active. Building on the success of last year’s campaign, which saw over 15 million individuals embrace the joy of movement and healthy lifestyles, the initiative will involve the participation of more than 1,000 athletes.

The IOC Young Leaders Programme, launched in 2016, empowers young individuals to utilize the power of sport to create a positive impact in their communities. This program aligns with Olympism365, the IOC’s strategy of using sport to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through this program, young leaders have implemented over 160 sport-based projects globally, benefiting more than 37,000 individuals in areas such as education, equality, health, peace building, and sustainability.

Worldwide Olympic Partner Panasonic has been supporting the IOC Young Leaders Programme since 2017, and this partnership will continue until 2024. As the founding partner of the program, Panasonic provides creative and technological expertise, along with a network of influencers and ambassadors, to inspire and equip young leaders with the necessary skills and tools for their projects. To learn more about Panasonic’s support for the program and to receive updates, sign up for the “IOC Young Leaders in Action” newsletter.
