Richland Public Health and the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics are teaming up to provide 100 bike helmets to children from qualifying families. A youth event called “Put a Lid on it!” will take place at the Buckeye Imagination Museum on Tuesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Families in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program and Medicaid-eligible families are welcome to participate in the helmet giveaway, with free admission for the first 100 children accompanied by a parent receiving a helmet. There will also be a helmet decoration station and free car seat checks provided by certified car seat technicians.
The Buckeye Imagination Museum is located at 175 W. Third St., with access to the parking lot from West Third Street. For more information, individuals can visit the RPH website at richlandhealth.org or call 419-774-4726.
