Mario Ivanković, aged 48, has been appointed as the new coach of Zrinjski after the club dismissed Krunoslav Rendulić. Rendulić’s dismissal came following a 3-0 defeat against Velež in the Mostar derby. This was despite his previous success leading Zrinjski to win the double crown last year and securing a historic placement in the group stage of the Conference League.
Ivanković has significant experience working with the first team, having spent almost six years with the same team. He also led the U17 team and the U19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is currently part of the professional staff of the A national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Zrinjski has stated that Ivanković will be supported in his new role until further notice by coaches who were part of the previous coaching staff. It is not yet known how long Ivanković will be in charge of the Zrinjski bench.
