Zymear Smith, a four-star athlete in the Class of 2025, has decided to decommit from the University of Alabama. He announced his decision on social media, thanking the Alabama football staff for their recruitment efforts and expressing his love and respect for the program. After discussing with his family and mentors, Smith made the decision to reopen his recruitment.

Smith received an offer from Alabama in February and committed in March. He recently took an official visit to Tuscaloosa in May and was previously considering Penn State, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and other schools. His most recent visit was with Maryland in June.

Smith, from North Caroline High School in Maryland, is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the state and the No. 10 athlete in the Class of 2025 cycle. With his decommitment, Alabama’s recruiting class now has 21 total pledges and currently ranks second in the national recruiting team rankings.
