Summer Health, a pediatric telehealth startup, recently announced the successful completion of a $11.65 million Series A funding round. The funding was led by 7wireVentures and Lux Capital, with participation from Pivotal Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Box Group, and Metrodora Ventures. Alyssa Jaffee, Alfred Lin, Deena Shakir, and Chelsea Clinton will join Summer’s board of directors.

Founded in 2022, Summer Health offers a pediatric telehealth messaging service that allows parents to seek treatment advice for issues like breastfeeding, feeding problems, and minor injuries by texting the service. Based in New York, the company plans to use the funds to enhance its technology platform and expand its services to more users.

Ellen DaSilva, the founder and CEO of Summer Health, emphasized the company’s mission to simplify access to pediatric care by providing parents with 24/7 access to medical guidance tailored to their needs. The platform aims to help parents make informed decisions about their child’s health conveniently and quickly.

In the past, Summer Health raised $7.5 million in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Lux Capital, with additional support from various other investors. Another notable company in the pediatric care space is Owlet, which recently partnered with telehealth staffing company Wheel to offer caregivers of infants the ability to prescribe Owlet’s FDA cleared pulse oximetry socks for monitoring their child’s health.
