Alkass, a Qatari network known for its exceptional coverage of international and domestic sporting events, is taking its production capabilities to the next level with EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution. This groundbreaking agreement, announced at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, will see Alkass upgrading all of their legacy XT3 servers to the advanced XT-VIA servers and incorporating IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems. This new solution is set to be deployed in Alkass’ fleet of OB trucks by August.

The adoption of EVS’ XT-VIA servers and LSM-VIA replay systems will ensure support for the latest formats and codecs, making Alkass future-ready and adaptable to their evolving needs. Operators will have fast and direct access to all network content, allowing them to efficiently navigate through live footage and create compelling replays and highlights. The addition of XtraMotion, EVS’ AI-based super slow-motion service, will significantly enhance storytelling capabilities by transforming footage into super slow-motion replays.

Issa bin Abdullah Al Hitmi, General Manager at Alkass, expressed his excitement about integrating EVS’ XT-VIA servers, following the success of the XS-VIA servers in their studio operations. He looks forward to elevating Alkass’ production operations in partnership with EVS. CEO of EVS, Serge Van Herck, commended Alkass for their trust in EVS and believes that the LiveCeption Signature solution will offer them unparalleled capabilities for immersive live storytelling and engaging their audience.
