As an advocate, her goal is to normalize conversations surrounding mental health by sharing her lived experience with mental illness and providing mental health education to various audiences. She has always had a passion for helping others, especially those dealing with mental health struggles, which is why she chose to pursue a psychology degree.

Maguire started working with Kids Minds Matter as a volunteer while earning her associate’s degree at Florida SouthWestern, which she completed in 2020. After transferring to FGCU, she continued her involvement with the organization as a behavioral health intern. In this role, she helped organize events aimed at spreading awareness and knowledge about mental health. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2022.

Her intention is to leverage her degree as a foundation for her advocacy work. Before college, she was unaware that being a mental health advocate was an option, but now she aims to utilize her degree to offer mental health education. She plans to share her academic knowledge and personal experiences with mental health to support others on their own mental health journeys.
