VTech has chosen its European subsidiary, Snom Technology, to lead the charge in expanding business product sales in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. As of April 2024, Snom will take over all sales of VoIP telephones in the region, with Fabio Albanini, the current Head of International Sales for EMEA, also overseeing this new area.

This decision was made following Snom’s consistent growth in the EMEA region, demonstrating that the premium brand for VoIP devices and solutions is well-equipped to meet the demands of a competitive market focused on professional communication.

Seven years after acquiring Snom in 2016, VTech has decided to adjust its strategy by allowing Snom Technology to take the lead in the Asia-Pacific market while continuing to manage business in EMEA. This strategic shift reflects a clear understanding of the regional distribution of sales between the parent company and its subsidiary.

The decision to focus on the Asia-Pacific region was informed by market analysis showing its significant market share of over 23% in 2023 with a projected CAGR of 12.0% by 2030. This growth is being driven by a rising demand for cloud-based telephony solutions, which is fueling the need for professional VoIP phones in the region. The improving telecommunications infrastructure in countries like China, Japan, South Korea, India, and Australia is further boosting the potential for growth in the business VoIP telephony market in Asia-Pacific.

To support its expansion into the APAC region, the German manufacturer has assembled a team to establish and strengthen relationships with existing and potential sales partners. Fabio Albanini expressed optimism about the challenge ahead and emphasized the importance of local management in ensuring the success of their strategy in APAC. Plans are in place to grow the team on the ground in the region over the coming years to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the growing market.
