Apple is currently working on developing a stylus that will be compatible with the Apple Vision Pro viewer. This stylus will support the operating system visionOS, on which the Vision Pro is based, and has already undergone internal testing. The Vision Pro is Apple’s venture into mixed reality (MR), which was announced last June and launched in the United States in February at a starting price of $3,499.

The Apple Vision Pro viewer introduces spatial computing technology, features a three-dimensional user interface, and supports interaction with applications through hands, voice, and eyes. The company aims to revolutionize how people work, collaborate, connect, relive memories, and enjoy entertainment with this device. It is touted as the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created.

To enhance the functionality of the Vision Pro, Apple has developed a stylus or Apple Pencil that will be compatible with the viewer. Currently, the Apple Pencil is only compatible with various versions of the iPad (Pro, Air, mini). The new stylus for Vision Pro has been tested internally and will work with drawing applications in Vision Pro such as Freeform and Pixelmator, according to a source familiar with the company.

It has been reported that the new stylus will require updated software and Apple is expected to announce the second iteration of the visionOS operating system at its developer conference (WWDC) in June. This move is part of Apple’s efforts to continue innovating and expanding the capabilities of its products.
