However, meetings can still take place elsewhere, and the Vikings have planned to meet with quarterback Jayden Daniels on Thursday. Daniels’ agent, Ron Butler, confirmed that his client will be having dinner with members of the Vikings organization in Baton Rouge on Thursday night. Prior to this, Daniels spent time with the Commanders, who hold the second overall pick in next week’s draft.
If the Commanders decide to select Daniels, the Vikings will not have additional time to meet with him after Thursday’s dinner. However, if Washington chooses another player, there is a possibility that Daniels could be in play for a trade up by Minnesota. The Vikings currently own the 11th and 23rd picks in the first round and have been considered a potential candidate to trade up for a quarterback. The decision on whether to make a move will be one of many storylines that unfold leading up to the first round of the draft next Thursday night.
