Arizona State University to Introduce Nation’s First Master’s Degree Program in Artificial Intelligence for Business

Catherine Phillips is an MBA student at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. This fall, the school will introduce the country’s first master’s degree program in artificial intelligence in business. The program, which spans nine months, is open to students with varying technical backgrounds. This deliberate inclusivity reflects the increasing integration of AI technologies across industries.

As AI becomes more prevalent, Sharon Chen from ASU emphasizes the importance of preparing the future workforce to understand how AI can enhance workflows and where its potential pitfalls lie. With concerns about misuse and bias amplification, Chen stresses the need for proactive measures to educate and equip the workforce for AI utilization.

Accepted students in the program will gain insights on assessing diverse business scenarios and leveraging AI to achieve business objectives. The curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply AI in different business settings.
