As Technology Advances, TikTok Begins Identifying AI-Generated Content

TikTok has announced that it will now be labeling content created using artificial intelligence when it’s uploaded from specific platforms. This move is part of the platform’s efforts to prevent misinformation from being spread on its social media platform. The announcement was made on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety.

Presser explained that TikTok’s users and creators are excited about the possibilities AI offers for creativity and connecting with audiences. However, the platform also wants to ensure that users can differentiate between fact and fiction. To achieve this, TikTok has previously encouraged users to label content that has been generated or significantly edited by AI. Users are also required to label all AI-generated content that contains realistic images, audio, and video.

By implementing these labeling measures, TikTok aims to promote transparency and help users make informed decisions about the content they view on the platform. This move reflects TikTok’s commitment to combating misinformation and ensuring a positive user experience for its community.
