Epic Games has recently rolled out an update for Fortnite (v29.30) that includes a new feature designed to filter out certain emotes that are considered aggressive. With this update, players will now have the option to choose not to see specific emotes such as “Laugh It Up,” “Take the L,” “Whipcrack,” and “Make it Plantain.” These emotes will be displayed as still images, without any dancing or music. Players can customize this setting to only show these emotes if performed by friends or hide them completely.

Among the hundreds of emotes available in the game, this particular group of four has caused controversy due to the way they are commonly used. Emotes like “Laugh It Up” and “Take the L” are often used after eliminating opponents or winning matches, leading many players to view them as toxic and confrontational. This new feature aims to address these concerns and provide players with a more enjoyable gaming experience.

In addition to the emote filtering feature, the update also introduces a new chapter for the Fortnite Festival, featuring content related to music star Billie Eilish. Players will have the opportunity to obtain an exclusive Eilish skin from the game’s item shop, along with a special style that can only be unlocked through the Festival Pass. The game will also feature music from Eilish’s discography, including popular songs like “Bad Guy,” “Therefore I Am,” “All The Good Girls Go To Hell,” “Happier Than Ever,” and “Oxytocin.”

Overall, these updates aim to enhance the Fortnite gaming experience by providing players with more control over their interactions within the game and by introducing exciting new content and collaborations.
