The World Olympic Games Qualifier is scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey from May 9-12. In this tournament, the top 3 finishers in each weight class will secure a spot for their weight category and country in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Team USA will have five competitors participating in the event, including Spencer Lee (57 kg), Zain Retherford (65 kg), Dalton Roberts (60 kg), Ellis Coleman (67 kg), and Kamal Bey (77 kg).
The tournament will feature competitions in Men’s Freestyle (57 kg, 65 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97 kg, 125 kg), Greco-Roman (60 kg, 67 kg, 77 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, 130 kg), and Women’s Freestyle (50 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 76 kg).
The schedule for the tournament is as follows:
– Thursday, May 9: Preliminary Rounds in Greco-Roman followed by Qualification Rounds
– Friday, May 10: Preliminary Rounds in Women’s Freestyle and repechage in Greco-Roman, followed by Bronze medal matches and Qualification Rounds in Women’s Freestyle
– Saturday, May 11: Preliminary Rounds in Men’s Freestyle and repechage in Women’s Freestyle, followed by Bronze medal matches and Qualification Rounds in Men’s Freestyle
– Sunday, May 12: Repechage and Bronze medal matches in Men’s Freestyle, followed by Qualification Rounds
