The future of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been a hot topic this offseason, with trade rumors and contract extension talks swirling around the young player. General Manager John Lynch recently addressed the rumors, stating that nothing is happening with regards to a trade to the Steelers and that discussions about an extension are actively taking place as Aiyuk enters the final year of his contract. Since being drafted by the 49ers in 2020, Aiyuk has been a productive player, accumulating 153 catches for 2,357 yards and 15 touchdowns over the last two seasons. His performance has made him a key asset in the team’s offense, although the organization must consider their other valuable players and plan for future contracts, including quarterback Brock Purdy’s deal.
