Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni celebrated May Day by giving concrete answers to Italians, especially those who contribute to the nation’s wealth through their hard work. In a live broadcast on social media, Meloni highlighted the government’s achievements on the labor market front, including a growth in employment of over half a million, record levels of employed and female workers, and a decrease in precarious work contracts.

Meloni also announced a new decree passed by the Council of Ministers aimed at creating new jobs, particularly in the South of Italy. One of the key measures in the decree is a 100% exemption from social security contributions for two years for young people under 35 who have never had permanent contracts. This exemption also applies to those over 35 who have been unemployed for at least two years, with a focus on women and improved accessibility to the benefit for women in the Southern regions.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of supporting companies to create employment and wealth, stating that the role of the State is to create favorable conditions for businesses and workers to thrive. Over the past 16 months, the government has been dedicated to assisting companies in hiring and promoting economic growth.

In conclusion, Meloni expressed pride in the positive results achieved by the government and thanked President Sergio Mattarella for his support. The ongoing efforts to boost employment and create new opportunities for Italian workers reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s economy and supporting its citizens.
