Certification of Cosber Technology’s Hydrogen Power Cubes (HPC) by TÜV SÜD

TÜV SÜD has issued three certificates to Cosber Technology, a leading manufacturer of vehicle testing equipment that also develops innovative solutions for sustainable and secure energy supply. One of their latest innovations is the Smart H2 Energy Platform, which offers an integrated solution for self-sufficient energy supply of buildings using hydrogen. The platform’s key components include the Hydrogen Power Cubes (HPC), which consist of an AEM electrolyser, hydrogen storage unit, fuel cell power generation system, power inverter system, and heat exchange system. When combined with photovoltaic or wind energy systems, HPCs can meet all the energy needs of buildings with renewable energy and hydrogen.

Dr. Helge Knobbe, Head of Industry Service at TÜV SÜD Korea, expressed that certifying the HPCs and their components was a challenging task that required an interdisciplinary team. Testing was done based on regulations such as the Machinery Directive 2023/1230, Pressure Equipment Directive 2024/68/EU, and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU for electromagnetic compatibility. After successful testing, TÜV SÜD recently delivered Safety Risk Assessment Reports and certificates for the HPC-1000 Plus and HPC-3000 Plus to Cosber. Cosber had already considered regulatory requirements during the development of the H2 Energy platform and HPCs, making the certification process smoother and faster.

TÜV SÜD has considerable experience and expertise in hydrogen technologies, overseeing the entire H2 value chain from production to application in various areas. They offer support and guidance throughout the certification process, ensuring that products meet European standards.
