Health issues like memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease, osteoarthritis pain, psoriasis, eczema, Parkinson’s disease, menopause, and digestive problems can also impact sleep quality. These conditions can cause discomfort, pain, or disruptions in sleep patterns, making it challenging for individuals to get a restful night’s sleep. Patients should seek appropriate treatment for their specific health concerns to help alleviate symptoms that may be contributing to their insomnia.

To prevent insomnia, individuals should create a sleep-friendly environment by choosing a bedroom that is dark, quiet, and cool. Limiting caffeine consumption in the afternoon, avoiding greasy and fatty foods, exercising earlier in the day, and getting sunlight in the morning can all support better sleep. By addressing underlying health issues and implementing healthy sleep habits, individuals can improve their chances of getting a good night’s rest and managing insomnia effectively.
