The Colorado High School Activities Association has joined forces with an officiating education company called RefReps to provide a comprehensive Sports Officiating Education curriculum for more than a dozen sports. This partnership offers schools the opportunity to offer “Intro to Sports Officiating” as an elective course during the school day. School administrators are encouraged to sign up for an informational webinar with RefReps on either Monday, May 6 or Thursday, May 23.
Currently, over 500 high schools and universities in 43 states are actively teaching Intro to Sports Officiating classes using RefReps’ engaging learning experience. It is believed that with the help of this curriculum and an enthusiastic instructor, schools can easily offer this course to students, benefiting both the students, CHSAA member schools, and the sports community.
The upcoming webinars will showcase the success achieved with partner schools so far, and provide guidance on how to integrate this course as a stand-alone Sports Officiating class or incorporate it into existing courses like Advanced Physical Education or Team Sports. RefReps will also share successful funding strategies that have been implemented across the country.
