Circle Centre Mall’s landlord has taken steps to evict Sugar Factory from its location due to the restaurant defaulting on rent payments. The complaint, filed by Circle Centre Mall, LLC. in March, states that Sugar Factory subsidiary SF Indianapolis 88 LLC. has not been paying rent since January 2023. Documents included in the complaint show that the Sugar Factory subsidiary owes over $333,000 in back rent.

Sugar Factory, a New York City-based restaurant known for its sweet treats and adult beverages, opened its Indianapolis location in April 2022 at 49 W. Maryland Street, the former site of Palomino restaurant. An eviction hearing for Sugar Factory is scheduled for May 1 in Marion County Superior Court 3. The letter sent to Sugar Factory from Circle Centre Mall, LLC. outlining the back rent owed was also included in the court filings.

It seems that the popular restaurant chain is facing legal troubles related to its financial obligations at its Indianapolis location. The outcome of the eviction hearing on May 1 will determine the future of Sugar Factory in Circle Centre Mall.
