During Passover, it’s important to be mindful of your diet and not overindulge. A glass of dry wine contains about 120 calories, while a glass of sweet wine has around 162 calories, and grape juice approximately 160 calories. Nutritionist Auerbach suggests following some guidelines for the holiday season to stay on track with your health goals.

It’s recommended to avoid excessive consumption of matzah and view it as a supplementary item rather than a main component of your meals. Stay hydrated by drinking at least seven to eight glasses of water or other low-calorie fluids daily. Try to resist snacking between meals, especially on Passover sweets, and opt for healthier choices like vegetables.

When enjoying meat meals, steer clear of fried foods and choose lean fish like mackerel, salmon, sole, or tuna over high-fat options like tilapia or trout. Select smaller fish varieties that contain less fat, such as carp weighing up to 300 grams. Avoid adding carbohydrates to soups and stick to cooked vegetables instead.

Limit indulgent meals during the holiday and only partake in them when necessary. Take advantage of opportunities for outdoor family activities or sports to stay active and maintain a balanced lifestyle. By following these suggestions, you can enjoy the holiday season while keeping your health in check.
