Martavis Bryant’s comeback in the NFL will have to continue with a different team as the Cowboys have released him, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. Bryant, who is 32 years old, was reinstated to the league last year after being suspended indefinitely in 2018. He joined Dallas’ practice squad towards the end of the season but never played in a regular-season game. Although he was let go from the practice squad in January, he later signed a futures deal with the team. Bryant has not played in an NFL game since 2018 when he caught 19 passes for 266 yards in eight games for the Raiders. He was drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round in 2014.

Pelissero reports that other teams are expected to show interest in signing Bryant now that he is a free agent. In addition to releasing Bryant, the Cowboys have also brought in veteran receiver Zay Jones for a visit on Wednesday, indicating he could potentially replace Bryant on the roster.

Overall, Bryant’s journey back to the NFL will now take a different route as he looks for a new team to continue his career.
