According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys have decided to bring back linebacker Damien Wilson. Wilson had not been part of the league for most of last season, but he signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad on January 3rd. He served a four-game suspension last season for violating the Personal Conduct Policy. Wilson’s last game appearance was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers.

Wilson began his NFL career as a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2015. He spent his first four seasons in Dallas before moving on to play for Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Carolina. The Cowboys were in need of depth at the linebacker position, and two days after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round, they decided to sign Wilson. He is the fourth outside free agent the Cowboys have added this offseason, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman.
