Rémi Quirion, the president of Ingsa, recently sat down with RPN to discuss the upcoming 10th-anniversary conference in Rwanda. The International Network for Government Science Advice is gearing up to mark its first decade and is looking ahead to the future. The global conference, the fifth for the organization (sixth if you count a virtual conference held in 2020), will be the first to take place in a Global South country.

During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past ten years and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Ingsa has played a vital role in connecting policymakers, scientists, and researchers to ensure evidence-based decision-making in government. With the conference being held in Rwanda, there will be a particular focus on the importance of science advice in developing countries.

Quirion emphasized the importance of this milestone event and expressed his excitement at the prospect of bringing together experts from around the world to collaborate and share their knowledge and experiences. The conference promises to be a platform for meaningful discussions and networking opportunities for all those involved in the field of government science advice.
