Recently, Dignity Health and Aetna have come to a new contract agreement after Dignity Health facilities and providers in California were dropped from Aetna’s health insurance network in early April due to failed negotiations. The multi-year contract will allow Aetna members to maintain in-network access to Dignity’s services, facilities, and providers in California, Arizona, and Nevada. The contract became effective on April 1, ensuring that Aetna members who received Dignity services after that date will be covered.

In a statement, Robert Quinn, MD, president of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, emphasized the importance of the agreement for patients, stating that it enables them to access high-quality care locally. He explained that the goal of working with Aetna has always been to meet the needs of patients both now and in the future, ensuring that Aetna members receive value-driven care from Dignity Health.

Cathy Hughes, Aetna’s vice president and chief network officer for the Western and South Central region, expressed satisfaction with reaching an agreement with Dignity Health. She highlighted Aetna’s dedication to providing its members with access to quality, convenient, and affordable care through its network of providers, emphasizing the importance of the continued partnership with Dignity Health in meeting the healthcare needs of Aetna members.

Aetna members are encouraged to reach out to the number on their insurance card if they have any questions regarding the new contract between Dignity Health and Aetna.
