El Paso bowl game conference boosts local economy with significant turnout.

The annual bowl season meetings have wrapped up in El Paso, Texas. For the first time ever, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl hosted the event, bringing hundreds of people to the borderland and generating tens of thousands of dollars for the local economy. Representatives from major bowls like the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Sugar Bowl gathered in El Paso for the three-day convention.

In total, representatives from all 43 bowl games attended the event in El Paso, with activities taking place at the El Paso Convention Center and the Paso Del Norte Hotel. The Arizona Bowl in Tucson, a regional event in the border southwest, also participated in the meetings. They are keen on getting borderland teams to play in their game, hosting the New Mexico State football team.

Kym Adair, executive director of the Arizona Bowl, highlighted the convenience of their location in Tucson, providing easy access for fans from the borderland to come and support their teams. Bernie Olivas, executive director of the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, expressed their excitement about hosting the convention in El Paso. He noted the significance of bringing such a prestigious event to the city, showcasing its appeal to visitors from across the country.
