Fort William is hosting the opening round of the Downhill World Cup racing for the first time since 2013. This marks the 21st World Cup or World Championship event to be held at the renowned course. The track has been refreshed for 2024, with changes made to shorten the overall track time. The increased speeds and the rugged terrain filled with rocks have already caused some bikes and riders to struggle during practice runs.

The schedule for the 2024 event has been adjusted, with elites and juniors taking to the course on the first day for timed training after a morning of practice. This gives an early indication of who is looking strong and confident for the upcoming races. Vali Höll and Dakotah Norton posted the fastest times of the day, showcasing their skills as they adapt to new team setups for the season.

As qualifying rounds approach, riders will soon be competing against the clock to secure their positions. The elites will face off once again in the semi-finals, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of racing. Fans and competitors alike are eager to see who will come out on top in this highly anticipated event.
