Team USA held a 60-minute practice session today at Ondrej Nepala Arena in Bratislava at 2 p.m. local time. Head coach John Hynes, from the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, had assistant coach Jack Capuano managing the penalty kill, while assistant coach Derek Lalonde oversaw the power play efforts. The U.S. coaching staff also included assistant coach Ty Hennes, goaltending coach Alex Westlund, and video coach Mike King.

Three players from Team USA, Zach Werenski, Johnny Gaudreau, and Luke Kunin, were part of the 2019 U.S. Men’s National Team that competed in the IIHF Men’s World Championship held in Slovakia. The team played its preliminary round games in Kosice and later moved to Ondrej Nepala Arena for the quarterfinal match against Russia, which they lost 4-3. John Hynes served as an assistant coach for that team.
