Family Dollar, Express, and Macy’s Among Stores Set to Close in 2024

Nearly 1,000 Family Dollar locations are expected to close over the next few years, with 600 stores scheduled to close in the first half of 2024. Analysts at UBS predict that up to 45,000 retail locations could close in the US over the next five years, primarily driven by smaller stores going out of business, while larger firms like Walmart, Costco, Target, and Home Depot continue to expand.
