After five days of round-robin play at the World Senior Championships, the women’s teams competed in the quarter-finals on Thursday evening. Switzerland won a close match against Sweden with a final score of 8-7, advancing to the semi-finals where they will face Lithuania. Lithuania secured their spot in the semi-finals with an 11-1 victory over England.
Canada dominated their quarter-final match against Latvia, winning by a score of 12-0 in just six ends. They will now play against Scotland in the semi-finals, who narrowly defeated Japan 5-4 in their quarter-final match.
In the men’s competition, the quarter-final line-up has also been determined. Sweden, the group winners, will face Czechia in the upcoming session, while Canada will go up against Norway. Switzerland, who has remained undefeated in the competition, will compete against the United States, and Scotland will face Germany, who have yet to lose a match.
