Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Saudi Arabia discuss regional matters

The Armenian and Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministers, Ararat Mirzoyan and Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, met today to discuss regional issues. Mirzoyan updated his counterpart on the latest developments in the relationship between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including negotiations on a peace treaty. He emphasized Armenia’s interest in increasing logistics interdependence for economic benefit and stability.

Mirzoyan also introduced the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the Armenian government and highlighted the country’s efforts to enhance political dialogue and partnership with Arab countries. The ministers discussed potential cooperation in trade, economy, tourism, education, and information technology, as well as protecting cultural values.

The two ministers also explored opportunities for collaboration within international organizations and multilateral platforms, including the possibility of cooperation related to “World Expo 2030.” This visit marks the first high-level meeting between Armenia and Saudi Arabia since establishing diplomatic relations in November 2023. Ultimately, both countries expressed a commitment to enhancing their relationship through joint efforts.
