Google Photos is introducing a new feature for the Memories section, which will allow users to use the ‘Show less’ option to limit the appearance of specific faces in the photos stored in that space. The app can detect images of places, pets, or faces and organize them into different sections, making it easier for users to find certain photos.

One of the sections in Google Photos is Memories, where the company is currently working on giving users more control over what they see in the app. This new functionality, spotted in version v6.81.0.628906483 of the Google app, includes a ‘Show less’ button that will save images of a particular person in the app storage but will show them less frequently in Memories.

This feature is more permissive than the ‘Block Face’ option, which completely hides faces from Memories and group photos. In the ‘People and Pets’ section of Google Photos, there will be a button to ‘Hide faces from memories’ which allows users to control which faces appear in Memories while still potentially showing up in group photos.

Users can access this feature from the Settings section of the app, under Preferences and then clicking on Memories. This new functionality will give users more control over their Memories section and the photos that are displayed.
