Deloitte Consulting has acquired Gryphon Scientific in a move to expand its biosafety, biosecurity, public health, and emergency response capabilities. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. As part of the acquisition, Deloitte is absorbing Gryphon’s team of experts including scientists, programmers, data analysts, and public health specialists. This team brings a wealth of experience in scientific communications, modeling, data science, and risk assessment.
The collaboration between the two companies will also focus on developing artificial intelligence applications through Deloitte’s Federal Health AI Accelerator. These applications aim to enhance public health and safety by helping clients prepare for chemical threats, biothreats, and other biological emergencies. Beth Meagher, U.S. federal health sector leader at Deloitte Consulting, expressed excitement about the addition of Gryphon’s professionals and leadership to the firm. She highlighted how this move will improve Deloitte’s data analytics and advanced technology capabilities.
Meagher emphasized that the acquisition will allow Deloitte to offer enhanced data-driven technology and scientific expertise to federal agencies. The goal is to support government leaders in their efforts to protect national security and ensure the health and safety of the public.
